New CSIR series launched for North Macedonia

We are delighted to report that a new national CSIR series has been launched – the first for many years.The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts has now published Volume I/1 of the new North Macedonia series, a catalogue devoted to Sculpture in the Round.

Edited by Vera Bitrakova Grozdanova and Aleksandra Nikoloska, the book new presents 117 works of sculpture from a variety of sites, with 91 plates in colour and black and white. The text is bilingual (Macedonian and English) throughout. Its focus is on secular art. The second book instalment will deal with mythological images. In total two volumes (i.e. four books) are envisaged in the North Macedonia series, with the possibility of additional publications featuring works discovered after 2021.
