CAVI Inscriptions: On one hydria: κ(α)λε. Also nonsense letters in the field.
CAVI Comments: The nonsense letters were previously wrongly read Eos (ΑΟΣ with three-stroke sigma, Millingen), a reading still accepted by Threatte (1980). Beazley in V.Pol. made the correction to nonsense letters and defined the subject, citing as a parallel New York 07.286.67 (Richter–Hall (1936), i, 53/31), a RF lekythos by the Providence Painter, where Nike is inscribed.
