CAVI Lemma: Fr. of RF cup. From Orvieto? Briseis Painter. First quarter fifth. Ca. 480
(Beazley).
CAVI Subject: Int.: a woman with a small kithara; at right, a rock seat. A: arming? A youth
running, a woman holding a shield and a male.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: [---]ακονον. The Leipzig fr. adds the lower part of the woman, with the
"first letter of the inscription:" Ε[---]{1}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} it is unclear whether this is the first letter of the first inscription
or the beginning of another. Is my note at fault here?
CAVI Comments: + 1932.1 (ex Leipzig T 541). Beazley in CVA, GB 3, makes a number of
suggestions (the Leipzig fr. was not known then): hardly [καλος καρτ]α Κονον or
[καλος νε Δι]α Κονον. Possibly a snatch of song: [--- Μο̅́σε̅σι δι]ακονο̃ν(?).
