CAVI Lemma: Fr. of RF cup. From Athens. Unattributed{1}. Last quarter sixth.
CAVI Subject: Int.: Athena seated; in front of her, a shield.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: Along the margin: on the left: Π[---] or π[--]. On the right: [---
κα]λο[ς]{2}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} Talcott and Philippaki compared the fr. with Agora P 24,116, ARV[2]
176/6, by the Painter of the Agora Chairias Cups. {2} my restoration.
Graef–Langlotz has π.ολ, which ignores the spacing. The position argues for a
proper name (Panaitios?) rather than [hο] π[αις κα]λο[ς].
CAVI Comments: Proably the beginning and end of a long curved inscription, going up on the
left and coming down on the right.
CAVI Number: 1304
