CAVI Lemma: Frs. from base of skyphos{1}. From Athens. Unattributed. Mid-sixth (Lang).
Sixth (context).
CAVI Subject: Decoration not preserved.
CAVI Inscriptions: On the bottom, Gr.: [Θαμνε]υ̣ : καθες : hυπο τοι hοδοι τας θυρας το καπο :
πριον(α).
CAVI Footnotes: {1} of Corinthian shape.
CAVI Comments: Non-Attic alphabet. Lang restores Thamneus, because he appears on F 12 and 13
(P 17,825 and 17,826), both found in the same pit. "... a possible trace of the
final upsilon is preserved" (Lang), but is not shown in the dr. Thamneus himself
writes Attic, but this inscription is probably in Megarian script and dialect.
Threatte (1996), 757, mentions the heta in hοδοι.
