  • CAVI Lemma: RF bell krater. Clio Painter. Third quarter fifth.
  • CAVI Subject: A: Apollo with muses (Terpsichore and Clio). B: man between two women.
  • CAVI Inscriptions: A: in small hasty letters, down: (Α)πολλων. Hasty, to right of head: Τερσει(χ)ορης, for Τερφσιχορης. Above Clio: Κλ(ε)ιω.(1)
  • CAVI Footnotes: {1} the epsilon lacks the central horizontal (according to Furtw.'s text).
  • CAVI Comments: Done after Furt., who has no facs. I wonder whether the spelling of Terpsichore omits a phi (Attic spelling intended) or replaces psi by sigma (which is four-stroke here). For the non-Attic ending see Threatte (1980), 132, citing Schulze. Small hasty letters. Mainly Ionic, but one three-stroke sigma.
