CAVI Lemma: RF cup. From Vulci. Makron. Hieron, potter. 490-480 (early, ARV[2]). Ca. 470
(Nachbaur). Hauptwerk I (Kunisch).

two youths with sticks, the one at right offering a live hare; at right, boy and
youth with stick{1}.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: From the head, right, curved along margin: Πραχσιτελες, and on the
left, curved: καλος, retr.{2}. A: from the head of the boy at left, curved
around the youth: Αρισταγο(ρα)ς καλος{3}. From the head of the second boy,
curved over the lover: (Π)ραχσιτελες : καλος{4}. B: boy facing left in center.
Along his back: [Π]ραχσιτελες : καλος. To right of boy at extreme right, along
back: Πραχσιτελες.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} Kunisch reverses A and B. {2} see sketch in Kunisch, p. 175. {3} rho
alpha = nu S2 (nu backward). Miswritten. See also ARV[2] 1566. {4} Πραχσιτελε[ς
καλ]ος, sketch.
CAVI Comments: + Munich 8956 (with sigma, two interpoints and a kappa; it completes the
second kalos-name on A). [Hence the reading should be as in Nachbaur.] -
Apparently portrait-kalos, but the repetition of the names is curious. - Blösch'
readings: Αριστογ.(N)ς καλος. (The nu printed as reversed). Also gives
Πραξσιτελες καλος.
