CAVI Lemma: Fr. of pot (protogeometric). From Athens. Unattributed. First quarter sixth
(inscription){1}.
CAVI Subject: Undecorated.
CAVI Inscriptions: In a curve, Grr.: Πυρ[ρ]ο Θορι|αδες{2}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} dated by context. {2} Lang reads this as one word: ΠΥΡΟΘΟΡΙΑΔΕΣ, boustr.,
and wonders about the unattested name. I follow Beazley's suggestion of the
father's name preceding the name, since there is a break between the two words.
[This is accepted in LGPN ii.] Thus only the second word is boustr. (the last
four letters retr.). Lang also considers Πυρ[ρ]ο (fem.), Θοριαδες, two separate
names.
CAVI Comments: Name(s)-on-sherd, awkwardly placed. The lettering is partly tall standard
(see AttScr (1990), 17). Cartwheel theta.
CAVI Number: 0482
