CAVI Lemma: RF cup. Unattributed (Beazley); near Euphronios (Bothmer){1}. Last quarter
sixth.
CAVI Subject: Int.: a `Scythian' archer shooting over the body of a fallen comrade. Ext.:
plain.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: to the archer's left, along the right margin, non-stoich. two-liner:
Λεαγρος | καλος{2}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} Williams attributes the cup to Euphronios. {2} Bothmer has the kalos
retr.; ARV[2] has καλον, not retr.; Williams, καλος, not retr.; perhaps the
letter was a sideways sigma. The kalos starts under the rho and is written in
two groups: κα and λος. Both words are unevenly spaced.
CAVI Comments: Coral red inside and out. Bothmer interprets the Int. as two Amazons.
CAVI Number: 4817
