CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: around the margin, very widely spaced: Μεμνο[ν] καλος{1}. A: behind the
satyr's back: Σιμαιος, retr. To left of the maenad's forehead: Θαλεια, retr. To
right of her head: κ[α]λε{2}. B: behind the left satyr: Καλ[λ]ι[ς], retr.{3}.
Beside the maenad: Λιγεια, retr. To left of the right-hand satyr: Ευ[--]ος,
retr.{4}. To his right: καλος. Under the foot, Grr.: V IVV and a siglum. Not in
Johnston (1979).
CAVI Footnotes: {1} only 1-2 letters of καλος show in Bioul. {2} the last two letters are on
the Asterita fr. (Beazley, who gives καλε). {3} CVA has Καλι; Fränkel, Καλια[.
K.-D. gives Καλι[--] and interprets Καλλιας. G. Neumann apud K.-D. says kallias
can also mean `monkey' [see LSJ]. The restoration could be Καλ[λ]ι[ας] or
Καλ[λ]ι[ς]. {4} the sigma not retr.
