  • CAVI Subject: A: komos. B: komos.
  • CAVI Inscriptions: Under the foot, Grr.: on one side: Κωρινθιοι. On the other side, in two lines: σύμμικτ' ἔνεστι πάντα | καὶ κωθώνια{2}.
  • CAVI Footnotes: {1} a line is drawn across the foot. {2} Beazley translates: `This is all a mixed lot, including cothons.' Johnston, p. 232 suggests that the writer is an Athenian, since he is not familiar with omega. Omega is used both for omicron and for omega.
  • CAVI Comments: συμμικτα is abbreviated on Louvre G 356 and Munich 1464 (Hackl (1909), pl. 2, no. 575). Κορινθιοι, sc. κρητηρες, is the name for column kraters. Note the Iambic trimeter. For κωθων see Johnston (1979), p. 231 with nn. 2 and 3 (one shape is the mug). Threatte (1996), 688 thinks Κορινθιοι may be part of the metrical inscription.
