Remarks: Floral revetment plaque. Strigil tops projecting from top fascia. Alternating wide, convex white strigils (W 3.4, H 9.1) and narrow ridged red strigils (W 2.5, H 9.1) protruding/recessed. 2 nail holes, Diam 1.4. Thick roll with diagonal bands separated by ridge. Tall frieze in high relief with crisp-edged upright small lotus flanked by large half-palmette. Across center are tendrils, below which central pendent palmette and flanking pendent half-lotuses. H upper central lotus 16.9, W 24.2. Bottom edge follows line of lotus leaves. Frieze has 6 nail holes. All proveniences are unsubstantiated in Louvre, except for recent attributions to Tuscania.

Paint: Diagonal bands on roll red and cream. Orange-red on top fascia, ridge, strigils, above lotus, on lower diamonds, background to horizontal volute tendrils 7.5R 4/6. Brown ground top and bottom parts of frieze 5YR 4/4. Cream. Gold-brown on upper lotus diamonds and part below 7.5YR 5/6.
Condition: Completely preserved example except for chips from bottom cutout edge.
