CAVI Inscriptions: A: handle zone: on his left, traces of a horizontal inscription (P. H. says,
two letters of an imitation inscription).
CAVI Comments: Acquired 1994 in the German market. - I note that the fr. does not preserve
any part of the lip; identification as a band cup is no doubt assisted by the
location of the picture with inscription, common on band cups. CVA, p. 69, has a
full discussion of masturbating humans and satyrs.
