CAVI Lemma: Fragmentary BF band cup. From Vulci. Manner of Elbows Out (Fellmann). Third
quarter sixth.
CAVI Subject: Handle zone: A: in the center, two antithetical sphinxes. At each handle, a
panther facing it, but with the head turned back. B: similar.
CAVI Inscriptions: Handle zone: nonsense: on each side, between the panther and the sphinx, a
vertical row of dots. B: similar. Three of the four rows are completely
preserved.
CAVI Comments: Broken in World War II, now fragmentary. Fellmann thinks that Munich 2193,
also with panthers and rows of dots (but they are horizontal), may be by the
same painter.
