quarter fifth. *Beazley, AJA 33 (1929) 364/9, figs. 2-3
(photos.). *ARV(2) 1579/4. Script 1139.
- CAVI Subject: Woman holding out an oinochoe; at right, a chair.
- CAVI Inscriptions: To right of her head, stoich. left-aligned tabella:
Ευαι(ο)ν Ι καλος Ι Αισ( χυ)λο(.). Αισσχυλο corrected to
Αισχυλο by changing the sigma to chi and the chi to
upsilon. A blot after the name.
- CAVI Comments: Mixed alphabet. Omicron miswritten in the name Euaion; this
last is read omega in ARV(2), but that is uncertain. I am
now not sure that Script is correct in calling the alphabet
near-Ionic.
