REJECTS KRETSCHMER'S CONNECTION OF Μολκος WITH μελπομαι UNLESS THE NAME IS EMENDED TO Μολπος; HE SUGGESTS PERHAPS A DIALECTAL VARIANT TO μαλακος (`SCHLAFF'), POSSIBLY CRETAN, BUT CONSIDERS THE WORD OBSCURE. I.K.R. COMPARES THE SCENE ON A WITH THE NECK OF THE KADMOS PAINTER'S VOLUTE KRATER, RUVO 1093, ARV[2] 1184/1 AND CITES SICHTERMANN FOR CONSIDERING ITS PICTURES THEATRICAL (NOTE THE TRIPOD). IF SO SHE THINKS THE NAMES MAY BE THE NAMES OF DITHYRAMBIC CHOREUTAE, READING Nοσσ[ος]{3}. KOSSATZ-DEISSMANN LISTS MOLKOS AS A SATYR NAME.
