CAVI Inscriptions: Nonsense(?): between the legs of the two figures, part retr., part kion.:
ιαορεν. Behind the legs of the man: α(ρ)ενμι, retr. except rho and nu. E.V.
suggests αρ[ε]ν [ει]μι, retr. And: ιδο [αρ]ρεν or: ια, ο, ρεν{2}.

CAVI Comments: = R 16. Not clear that the alphabet is Attic. A rough picture and large,
rough writing. The words almost resemble a foreign language, but are more likely
illiterate scribblings. Rightly considered meaningless by Beazley.
