- CAVI Collection: Athens, N.M. 18,772.
- CAVI Lemma: Fr. of pinax. From Aegina. Unattributed. Ca. 690 (?). 710-700 (?) (Jeffery).
720-710 (Guarducci). 700 (Morris).
- CAVI Subject: Head of a warrior; spearhads.
- CAVI Inscriptions: On top of the scene, in large letters: --]σ̣ονος Επιστ̣[--.
- CAVI Comments: Considered Aeginetan by Jeffery, but the letters are not diagnostic (see
AttScr). The piece may not belong to Morris' Aeginetan workshop. I list it here
as possibly Attic, with a possibly Attic inscription. No doubt a dedication, a
bespoken piece. Jeffery, p. 403, restores: [Λυ?]σ̣ονος Επιστ̣[αμον ανεθεκε?].
Cook restored a metrical signature, which is unlikely. - The pi is definitely
curved, cf. AttScr.
- CAVI Number: 0935
