(Cambridge, 1919): I, 158 Journal of Hellenic Studies: 41 (1921) 121
CAVI Lemma: Frs. of RF cup. From Orvieto. Unattributed{1}. Cachrylion, potter. Last
quarter sixth.
CAVI Subject: Int.: upper part of an archer. A: sacrifice: an attendent with a basket; a
woman holding a phiale over the flames of an altar. B: parts of three young
athletes.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: [Χαχρ]υλι[ον] [εποιεσ]εν{2}. A: [--]ις and below: κα[--]{3}. B: to left
and right of a head facing left: [---]α^ις{4}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} ARV[2] 115 gives a list of related vases. {2} so ARV[2]. Walters has
[--]λιον[---]εν and his dr. makes little sense: there are three letters to left
of the head and the ...εν is to its right. Bea. Arch. has: [Χαχρ]υλι[ο]ν
[εποιεσ]εν. {3} Walters says that this must be intended for [Λεαγρ]ος κα[λος],
but the dr. looks more like [hο πα]ις and κα[λος]. {4} so the dr. in JHS;
Walters says: κα]λος.
