CAVI Subject: Woman playing the lyre; woman dancing, with krotala; crane.
CAVI Inscriptions: Between the crane and the lyre player: hο παλς. Miswritten. Between the two
women: καλ(ο)[ς]. For hο παις καλος.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} not in Beazley.
CAVI Comments: Large and coarse letters suiting the style of the Sappho Painter. Some
strokes are rubbed off, e.g. the top of heta. CVA and I think the form is παλς,
not παυς. For the latter, see now Threatte (1996), pp. 278-79. The omicron of
kalos looks more like a badly written epsilon, but καλε seems excluded.
