Remarks: Hollow, handmade statue of Athena wearing Chalcidian helmet with high crest (H helmet 19.1, W 15.8, H cheekpiece 7.4, MPW 8.2; H crest 14.2, W 5.1, Th each wing 1.1, distance between wings 2-2.3). Scar from missing finial in front of crest (3.8 x 3.8) surrounded by black line. At base of crest, head is open & completely hollow. At neck, chiton edge with 1 thin fold (W 1.5), then thicker piece of raised drapery (MPW 5). Th body wall at front averages 1.6. On back, raised square of hair, painted black, falling below helmet onto back (H 14.5, W at bottom 22.9). Drapery below hair on back painted red-brown. Vent hole in left shoulder at break (Diam 0.6). 2 holes in each side of crest, for additions? Square piece cut out of base back of helmet after firing (H 2.1, W 1.8) similar to opening between crests. Inside fairly smooth but with lumps of clay below shoulder & smoothed layers down back
