  • Remarks: Large volute acroterion curving to right from oval base (H 24, W 62), with curved section narrowing from 56 at bottom to 28 at middle (73 above bottom edge), to 12.5 at top, to 8.8 at bottom of small curl, to 4.7 at top of inner curl. In section, acroterion is hollow, with flat inner & outer faces, with beveled edges, wider at bottom (W top 4.7, bottom 8.8), thinning towards top. Surface decorated with large painted scale pattern, incised with compass & painted in bi-color rows horizontally.
