CAVI Lemma: Frs. of RF cup. From Athens. Probably Euergides Painter (Beazley). Last
quarter sixth.
CAVI Subject: Int.: lost. A: in relief: male leading two horses; a third horse. B probably
similar.
CAVI Inscriptions: Int.: around the lost scene, Gr.: [Αθε]ναιας εμ[ι]{1}. A: above the male:
hιπ[π]αιχμ[ος]{2}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} so Peek; note εμι, not the standard Attic form. Graef–Langlotz prints a
gap between epsilon and mu, so perhaps there was another letter. Not
illustrated. {2} taken by Beazley to be the name of the male, who according to
Graef–Langlotz, is a youth.
CAVI Comments: Frs. a - f. The name recurs on London E 253 (ARV[2] 35/2, 1625), perhaps also
by the Euergides Painter.
