  • Remarks: Sphinx acroterion. Handmade, half life size. Ridge tile with slightly rounded top front edge. W paw 4.9. Solid sheet of terra cotta between forelegs. Round strut between wings, Th 3, H 8.5, W ca. 10. Th wing 2.4. Torso hollow. Chest rounded with raised, curving panels to either side continuing inner line of each foreleg and becoming wings. Vertical hole in back of head and below testicles and tail. Broken recently and not yet repaired. Scar on back between wings and underside of belly. Th wall 1.9- 2.4. Torso and tops of hind legs hollow with uneven, lumpy interior. Large round scar for tail (6.5-7) above vent hole; on upper back, elongated scar where tail rested, 4 cm from round scar. Diam vent holes 2.4 (below tail) 1.8 (behind testicles) pushed through from outside in. H right wing 27.5, Th at top 1.5. W leg 5.3. Above elbow joint of leg, on both sides, curving recessed channel modeling bones and muscles.
