  • CAVI Collection: London 1900.6-11.1.
  • CAVI Lemma: Alabastron in Six' technique. From Eretria. Psiax. Last quarter sixth. Ca. 520.
  • CAVI Subject: Youths with horses. (The pattern work above and below is WG).
  • CAVI Inscriptions: Grr.: Καλος Καρυστιος. Σμικριον | καλος. Μορυλος{1}.
  • CAVI Footnotes: {1} Μόρυλος or Μο̅ρύλος? LGPN ii has Μόρυλλος. The name seems to be otherwise unknown. The only parallel is Μόρυλλος, a place name (Pape). I no longer believe this and similar inscriptions by Psiax and others are modern; cf. AttScr (1990), 58 n. 6. In ARV[1] 9/12 and in ARV[2] Beazley gives the inscriptions without comment.
  • CAVI Comments: The Grr. are done with a fine point.
  • CAVI Number: 4712
  • AVI Bibliography: ABV (1956), 294/25. — ARV[2] (1963), 8/13. — Para. (1971), 321. — Add.[2] (1989), 77 and 151. — AttScr (1990), no. 316.
