  • CAVI Lemma: Fragmentary BF lip cup. Epitimos Painter (?) (Bothmer){1}. Epitimos, potter. Third quarter sixth. 550-540 (Bothmer, CVA).
  • CAVI Subject: Int.: divinities: part of a standing figure (child or Hebe?); Zeus seated; Hermes; a seated goddess (Hera?). In the exergue: two cocks facing. Lip: A: a rider. B: similar. Handle zone: A, B, each: sphinxes in lieu of palmettes.
  • CAVI Inscriptions: Handle zone: A: Ε[πιτ]ιμ[ος επο]ιεσεν{2}. B: Επιτ̣ι̣[μος εποι]ε̣σε[ν]{3}.
  • CAVI Footnotes: {1} very near Lydos. {2} so CVA; Bothmer, p. 74, has επ]οιεσεν. Add.[2] 400 gives its reading for B also as the reading for A, which is wrong. {3} so CVA; the Bareiss cat., p. 25, Bothmer's check list, ibid., p. 74, and Add.[2] 400, all have: Επιτιμος εποι]εσε[ν (no doubt with errors in the brackets).
  • CAVI Comments: Ex S.80.AE.40. Ex Bareiss 395. [[Diameter: 186–189.5.]]
