Remarks: Fragment of convex shield (Diam 25.2, Th edge .9, Th center 6.4, W outer recessed edge 1.2-1.3) broken through middle. Inside uneven & lumpy with thick (2.4-2.6) crosswall across center & scar of 2nd at right angle to attach shield to figure. Inside has cream edge (W 1.3-1.9), inside of which surface painted purple-red. Outer decoration: outer edge red-brown, central disk with whirligig pattern (W 7) of alternating red/cream/black crescents radiating from red central circle (Diam 1.5) with outer black band (W .6), above which black wave pattern on cream ground.
