CAVI Comments: A letter by Wolters to Benndorf for his publication in Eph. 1887, p. 115,describes the remains carefully and is reprinted in Graef?Langlotz. - CompareAcr. 2590 [BF]. - Benndorf thought the [first] inscription added later. -Bothmer in Berlin Antikenmuseum (1991), 142 has very interesting comments.Plaque refired? Or M. wiped off before firing? Etc. N. Slater in Signs ofOrality (Mnemosyne suppl. 188, 1999) 152 n. 21 considers the change ofkalos-names an example of a public discussion about kaloi. Threatte (1996), 186:points out that the reading in Kretschmer (1894), 184 (from CR 2 (1888) 188/5),Γλαυκ̣λε̣ες καλος, [and said to be for Γλαυκοκλεες], is a misreading of theMegakles/Glaukytes plaque.
