- CAVI Lemma: Fr. from wall of BG pot{1}. From Athens. Unattributed. Third quarter
sixth{2}.
- CAVI Subject: Undecorated (glazed on outside).
- CAVI Inscriptions: On the sherd: Λυσια̣|ς̣ Μυρ(τ)ο{3}.
- CAVI Footnotes: {1} seventh- or early sixth-cent. fabric. {2} Mid-sixth, Lang. {3} Lang's
reading, as names-on-sherd, with the final sigma written in the second line
(end-boustr., but the sigma not retr.). But the dr. shows that the tau looks
like a cross (chi?). I have tried to read the two Grr. not as names-on-sherd:
Λυσια̣[--] and [--]ε̣μυρχος, the epsilon being quite uncertain (and not shown in
Lang's dr.). Perhaps a second masc. name: Μυρ[ρ][ι]χος? The whole perhaps part
of a list of men's names.
- CAVI Number: 0641
- AVI Bibliography: Lang (1976), 19/D 20, pl. 8 (dr.).
- CAVI / AVI Data from Henry Immerwahr's Corpus of Attic Vase Inscriptions (CAVI), updated by Rudoph Wachter's Attic Vase Inscriptions (AVI)
