this is undoubtedly the same vase, which appeared in the Vente Somzée of 1901.
For the syllabic use of hε [[h(ε)]] see also Athens, N.M. 12,441. Threatte
(1996), 39, 45, and 46, explains the use of eta for e differently. Ionic
alphabet with omicron for omega.- Oakley reads: ΜΗΛΑNΟΠ; cf. p. 11. But the Ε is
short; see LGPN ii.
