plemochoie to left; at left, below the top, the ph. shows an oinochoe hung up.
- CAVI Inscriptions: Starting above the head of the small woman, between it and the head of the
tall woman, close to the top, horizontal stoich. left-aligned three-liner:
Διφιλος | καλος | Μελανοπ|ο. ....... ..... . ......{1}.
- CAVI Footnotes: {1} the final omicron is aligned horizontally with line 2 and vertically with
lines 1 and 3.
- CAVI Comments: The last letter of the patronymic added at the end of the second line
(Beazley; see also ARV[2] 1677). The lettering is somewhat different from other
Diphilos vases such as Athens 1923. Mixed alphabet. Mixed alphabet. Ionic
lambda. Three-stroke sigma.
