CAVI Subject: Shoulder: Heracles and Triton; spectators. Body: Athena mounting a chariot;
behind the horses, Apollo playing the lyre; Hermes.
CAVI Inscriptions: Body: to right of Hermes' body (he faces the horses to his left), between him
and the right margin, not facing him: hερμο{σ}, retr.{1}. To right of Athena's
face: Αθεναια. Between the lyre and the horses' head: Απολ[λ]ονος. On the
reserved side of the mouth, in BG: Τυχιο[ς] εποιεσ[ε](ν){2}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} the final sigma is modern (Beazley; CVA); it is a reversed three-stroke
sigma, i.e. turned in retr. {2} so ABV; the photo shows the missing letters, but
they may be restored. There is a short vertical stroke placed high after the
second iota, which must be accidental. The surface is white, according to CVA;
reserved, according to Beazley.
