Remarks: Small statuary group of Amazon rider (MPH 22.5, RH ca. 40) sitting side-saddle on rearing horse, moving to right. Rider wears short chiton below cuirass with flaps & belt, & pteryges. Long locks of hair on back shoulders. Hollow, handmade, in round. Was attached to last block of raking sima at lower right corner of pediment, above strigils, part of which remain on belly of horse, extending in front of openwork cresting. To right of horse, part of openwork volute pattern painted black with white edges, which would have extended down to ram's head corner protome. Four main fragments: 1. Fragment preserves horse hindquarters. Detached from curving surface that projected at top, probably cavetto and strigils. MPH 29.1, MPW 1.2, MPD 11.6. Joins back of 2. 2. Central and forequarters of horse with painted strigil below belly and double volutes to right, black with white edges at front and reversed closed white volute with 3rd volute below and with black edges behind. Channel behind horse D 4. Left leg of female rider seated side-saddle attached to horse. MPH 30.5, MPW 36.5, MPD 16.4. 3. Horse head MPH 12.8, MPW 14.4, MPD 5. Hollow. White with painted brown bridle. L head 13, W 4.5. 4. Female rider. MPH 22.6, MPW 9.1, MPD 9. Right hand scar on right hip. Elongated upper torso turned 3/4. Painted cuirass with 2 rows of flaps and scallops of skirt hem on thigh. 2nd fragment of left thigh with flaps and hem.
