CAVI Lemma: BF lip cup. From Vulci. Sakonides. Third quarter sixth.
CAVI Subject: [[Int.: circles.]] Lip: A, B, each: a female head (bust) in outline.
CAVI Inscriptions: Handle zone: A: shifted to left: Σακονιδες εγραφσεν εμ̣[ε]. B: also shifted
to left: χαιρε και πιε̣ι τ̣ε[ν]δι.
CAVI Comments: The letters are short and smallish. The writing on A is better than that on
B, but hardly by a different hand. Fellmann gives a list of head cups,
especially by Sakonides; also of some cups with drinking inscriptions similar to
2165; he discusses variants of drinking inscriptions in general. The rho not
with extended vertical.@@[[Diameter: 210.]]
