A prince at Olympia who gives his name to south Greece - the Peloponnese (Pelops' island). He beat King Oinomaos of Elis in a chariot race to win Hippodameia as his bride, by either bribing the king's charioteer Myrsilos or sabotaging his chariot. The resultant curse pursued his family - Atreus, Agamemnon, Orestes.
