A wild boar which terrorised the area around Erymanthos. Herakles' Fourth Labour was to catch the beast alive. He frightened it out of its lair by shouting, chased it into deep snow and there netted it and carried it off on his shoulders. He delivered it to his master Eurystheus, who is shown, in the painting to the left, cowering in a sunken jar.
