This Doric temple was built between about 530 and 510
BC. It is referred to by letter, as attribution to a deity is uncertain,
though Apollo is a possible candidate. Three nearly complete metopes,
and several fragments, survive. The centre of each pediment was decorated
with a large, shallow relief head of Gorgo, made of painted clay (left)
