Comparanda: Treatment of eyes similar to sphinx 68-635
Remarks: Griffin head acroterion. Inside uneven, lumpy, "lava flow", with fairly thin walls (ca. 1 at mouth, 2 at neck). Diam knob 2.2. Dist. outer eyes 7.4. RH open mouth 8.6. Piece is covered with shiny black incrustation inside and out and over breaks at neck. Uneven break at neck- not detached from tile. Fabric, scale, workmanship similar to acroteria.
