  • Remarks: Fragment of broad, pitched "Corinthian-style" cover tile (Th 3) with 2 slightly concave facets (W 15, Th 2.2; MPW 14.2, Th 2.6). On top, painted decoration: central red stripe (W 1.8), with crescent stripes (D 6.8) to either side, alternately red & black, 5.8 cm apart. Finished front edge at corner. On vertical side edge (H 4.3), red band at top, black scallop near bottom edge. Given width, could this be a ridge tile? Or perhaps part of an acroterion base????
