- CAVI Collection: Athens, N.M. 1241.
- CAVI Lemma: RF pyxis with lid. Unattributed. Third quarter fifth. Ca. 430.
- CAVI Subject: Apollo and eight Muses; column; one Muse is seated and tuning her lyre; a
standing Muse to her right looks at her with an open book roll.
- CAVI Inscriptions: On the book roll: white dots imitating writing, roughly arranged in five rows
and (as Turner saw) two columns of writing.
- CAVI Comments: As Pöhlmann points out, the lyre and the book roll go together. I believe the
dots imitate writing, not musical notation.
- CAVI Number: 0761
