CAVI Lemma: RF plastic aryballos (head vase: woman's and African's heads). From Greece.
Unattributed; Epilykos Class. Last quarter sixth.
CAVI Subject: Two cocks, between palmettes.
CAVI Inscriptions: On each side of the woman's neck, near the partition with the African's neck,
in large letters, both inscriptions facing the woman: καλος and καλος, retr.
CAVI Comments: In JHS, Beazley says that it is impossible to tell whether the vase is by the
same moulder as G 986; conceivably painted by Skythes. I rather think the kalos'
refer to the African.
