Divine winged horse, child of Gorgo/Medusa, born from her neck as she is decapitated by Perseus. Pegasos was tamed by Bellerophon as he watered on Acrocorinth, and becomes his mount for the fight against the Chimaera. Often used as an independent decorative device.
