A site on the east coast of the Peloponnese (S. Greece) which housed the major sanctuary of the healing god Asklepios from the 4th century BC on. Its famous Theatre, shown here, typifies theatre design of the late classical period. Other temples include an unusual circular building (heroon?) and a temple of Asklepios, with pedimental sculptures.
