CAVI Lemma: BF hydria. From Vulci. Leagros Group (Painter A). Last quarter sixth.
510-500.
CAVI Subject: Shoulder: Heracles and Cycnus. Body: Peleus carrying off Thetis; on either
side, two fleeing Nereids.
CAVI Inscriptions: Body: above the heads of the couple: Θετις. Between her left arm and the Nereid to its left: καλε. Under the foot, Grr.: monogram as on Louvre F 300 witha `counter mark'.
CAVI Comments: I take it that the καλε refers to the Nereid rather than to Thetis, although
Θετις καλε is not excluded.
CAVI Number: 6367
