CAVI Lemma: Stand (proto-Attic). From Aegina, necropolis. Polyphemus Painter.
Mid-seventh.
CAVI Subject: Lower body: five bearded warriors.
CAVI Inscriptions: Behind the shoulder of the central warrior: Μενελας.
CAVI Comments: I am listing this pot among the Attic vases, since Morris' Aeginetan
workshop, even if established, has a close connection with Attic workshops. The
inscription is certainly not Attic.
