CAVI Footnotes: {1} the cat. wrongly attributes to the Timiades Painter (Kluiver). {2}
female; see Florence 70,993 (CAVI 3584 with corrections) and Iliad 9.667. {3}
the Sotheby cat. wrongly spells ξ instead of χ. - "it is strange that the name
starts with hισ- and ends with -ας, instead of Ισ- and -ος respectively" (so
BABesch: is this really Ruijgh rather than Kluiver?). I.e. the text expects
Ισχιπ[π]ος. [The name is not in LGPN ii or Pape, but many other compounds with
Ισχ- are. I.e.: Ischippos miswritten as Hischip
as. [The only irregularity is -ας.]
CAVI Comments: Ex Küsnacht, Hirschmann G 30.
