THIS MAP SHOWS THE SPREAD OF KUSHAN OR GANDHARAN ART AS WELL AS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SILK ROAD AND OTHER TRADING ROUTES ACROSS CENTRAL ASIA. THE REGION HAS ALWAYS DEVELOPED ITS OWN UNIQUE ARTISTIC TRADITION, DRAWING ON THE MANY STYLES CONVERGING THERE.
