CAVI Lemma: RF pointed amphora. From Vulci. Copenhagen Painter. First quarter fifth.
CAVI Subject: A: Dionysus making a libation with the assistance of a nymph. B: two nymphs
holding flowers.
CAVI Inscriptions: A: to right of the nymph's middle: Nυνφαια. Between the figures: hο παις
καλος. To left of Dionysus' middle, retr.: Διονυσος. B: between the nymph's

CAVI Comments: Threatte (1996), referring to Smith's Cat. iii, p. 234, thinks Nυνφαια is
here a name for Ariadne, and not an alternative for νυμφη. Dotted delta. Attic
alphabet with some four-stroke sigmas.
CAVI Number: 4574
