CAVI Subject: A: Maenad dancing with a sword and the hindquarters of an animal; youth,
garlanded and in festal robe, fluting. B: similar.
CAVI Inscriptions: A: above the maenad: καλος{1}. B: above the maenad: καλος{1}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} possibly καλο̃ς(?).
CAVI Comments: The subject is a maenad of the theater (Beazley (1955)); maenad = ορχηστρις
(Weinreich). "Above the head of the Maenad ... there is an inscription. It is
not καλε, but καλος. I do not press this, but it is worth recording." (Beazley
(1955))
