CAVI Subject: A: a bearded satyr holding a torch in each hand precedes a woman (the
bride){1}. B: a bearded satyr in chiton and himation leads a woman (χεὶρ ἐπὶ
καρπῷ) with thyrsus, while also holding a thyrsus.
CAVI Inscriptions: A: at the top: near the woman: καλη. Near the satyr: καλο[ς]{2}. B: as on A:
καλε and καλο[ς]{2}.
CAVI Footnotes: {1} Cahn: in a short chiton and an outer garment with overfolds; boots. Cahn
thinks she is a male dressed as a woman, the bride's mother; he thinks it is
from a satyr play. {2} so Cahn.
CAVI Comments: A: the bride could be the basilinna at the Anthesteria. Mixed alphabet with
Attic lambda.
